ASOR 1952-21

Original caption: View from Kh. Qumran south to Ras Fashkha.

c005Qumran21Comment: This picture south over the plateau takes in the top of the marl spur in which 4Qa, 5Q and 10Q are found, though it was taken before their discovery. The view south is over the southern part of the ruins and the wadi to Ras Feshkha in the distance, which can be seen to be a steep slope dropping straight down to the water. There is no built up road through the plain, but only a track.

This picture was published in Humbert and Chambon (1994: 203, Fig. 416) with the caption: ‘La falaise vers Aïn Feshkha’.
