The photographs were digitised as part of the DQCAAS project, and all labelling corresponds to what was published by George Brooke and Helen Bond, The Qumran Allegro Photograph Collection (Leiden: Brill, 1996). Their accompanying book explains each image.
The collection consists of 1470 photographs associated with Khirbet Qumran, the Dead Sea Scrolls, and nearby sites, and is divided into different categories: A. Archaeology; B. Biography; C. Copper Scroll and D. Documents.
These photographic images are provided in low resolution (0.72 dpi) by request of Manchester Museum, and may be used for teaching, or non-commercial purposes, subject to the acknowledgement of permissions from the Allegro estate, with courtesy of Manchester Museum.
