Original caption: View of northern section of mountains as seen from shore of Dead Sea, looking west.
Comment: This photograph forms a pair with ASOR1952-30, which overlaps the view. The picture is taken from the waterline north-east of Kh. Qumran looking back over the wide shore as it existed in 1952. The camera has been turned to take in the stretch of hills running north of the Wadi Qumran. The very top of the Wadi Qumran is visible on the far left side.
THE ASOR COLLECTION CONTAINS PHOTOGRAPHS FROM THE 1952 EXPLORATION OF THE QUMRAN CAVES, FOLLOWING THE INITIAL DISCOVERY OF THE DEAD SEA SCROLLS, WHICH HAVE BEEN SHARED WITH MEMBERS OF THE DQCAAS NETWORK.
